A sunset under a blue sky in the Speicherstadt: At the corner of Brook/Kibbelsteg oldtimers and people dressed in the style of the 1920ies are casting their shadows. Today and yesterday an historic scene was created here, because a part of the film production “The Story of my Wife” by the award-winning director Ildikó Enyedi was being filmed.

The love drama is based on the novel with the same name by the Hungarian writer Milán Füst of 1962. It tells the story of a captain who bets in a coffee house that he will marry the first woman coming through the door. The story takes place in Hamburg and Paris in the 1920ies.

The leading roles are played by Léa Seydoux, known from James Bond 007: Spectre and the Dutchman Gijs Naber.

Apart from the Speicherstadt there was already film-shooting around the Trostbrücke, in the inland port, and in the harbour area south of the Elbe.
