Around 26 residents came together on November 24th for a neighborhood meeting to find out more about the latest developments at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. At the second “Digital Neighborhood Event” the representatives of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) invited the neighbors of the construction site to a relaxed get-together via Zoom and exchanged views with them on the further development of the project.
Due to the current contact restrictions, the event did not take place in the showroom at Sumatrakontor as usual, but via the Zoom video conferencing system. Nevertheless, the participants enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere and a dinner package consisting of beer or wine, delicious sandwiches and chocolate from the nearby market hall Hobenköök.
After a short introduction, Director of Development Germany Dirk Hünerbein, Construction Manager Viktor Eskioglou and Marketing Manager Karen Mester-Lichtsinn presented the current status of construction progress and gave an outlook on the next steps. The guests followed the presentation with interest and used the opportunity to exchange views with the project managers. The residents wanted to know how many visitors URW expects at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, how the cruise ship terminal will proceed, what the concept for the three hotels will look like or how the project will proceed over time.
“It is a particular concern of ours to keep residents regularly informed about the current construction progress. We are happy to answer all the questions that naturally arise in such a large construction project,” explains Hünerbein. “We had a pleasant evening. I know many of the residents very well and so this meeting was also characterized by a relaxed and personal atmosphere”. The next neighborhood event is already being planned for 2021 and the neighbors will be informed as soon as possible about the date.
