A heavenly eye-catcher in a prominent location – a building wall in the middle of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is being given angel wings. With an impressive span of almost 4 meters and a height of over 2 meters, the wings will draw attention to the work of the Hamburg Donors‘ Parliament from the time of the quarter’s grand opening. At the same time, visitors will have the opportunity to find out more about the Donors’ Parliament on an information board, make a donation using a QR code or, of course, have their photo taken with the wings.
The Hamburg Donors’ Parliament was established in 1996 and, as a charitable foundation, has set itself the task of helping people in the city of Hamburg who live in poverty, homelessness and isolation or are at risk of doing so. Since 1996, more than 1,500 social projects have been supported by the more than 3,000 members of the Donors’ Parliament with more than 16 million euros.
The striking angel wings will be installed on a wall in the immediate vicinity of Überseeallee and the Port des Lumières, an exhibition center for immersive art. Visitors can not only have their photo taken with the wings in a unique position, but also do something good at the same time. Using a QR code, visitors can make a donation to the Hamburg Donors’ Parliament and thus actively support the participation of disadvantaged people in the city.
A cornerstone of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield’s “Better Places” sustainability strategy is its commitment to the economic and social development of local communities. The partnership with the Hamburg Donors’ Parliament underlines this commitment once again.
