New perspectives at 15th neighborhood event: Mini-cruise to Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier

80 residents living around the construction site were given new perspectives on Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier at the 15th neighborhood event in early April 2024: During a mini-cruise on the “COMMODORE” from Barkassen Meyer, the passengers met with Jan Peter Becker, Managing Director of Port des Lumières Hamburg, Henning Riecken, Managing Director of Breuninger Hamburg branch, Miriam Wolframm, General Manager of the LEGO Discovery Centre Hamburg and Theda Juliane Mustroph, Quarter Manager of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier.

“Shopping destination, residential area, office location, entertainment, community: Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier stands for all this and much more. A piece of Hamburg will soon be opening here,” said Quarter Manager Theda Juliane Mustroph. From the water side, the diversity was already evident in the design: the imposing glass roof, the gleaming twin towers Luv and Lee, the elegant The Yard – the impressive view from the south and east already gives a hint that this place will soon be pulsating with life.

Miriam Wolframm, Jan Peter Becker, Henning Riecken and Theda J. Mustroph explained the special features of their respective offers and emphasized that particularly families are welcome. “Adults without children are not allowed to enter Lego Discovery Center,” Miriam Wolframm explained. The Port des Lumières also appeals primarily to families and aims to break down the barriers to accessing art: “Here, visitors are immersed into the images,“ Jan Peter Becker said. Breuninger is focusing primarily on the connection of stationary trade with online shopping: “Although we only have a small amount of children’s fashion in the store, we have a large children’s department in the online store,“ Henning Riecken explained. “We welcome everyone and, above all, provide personal advice. What we don’t have in the store, we send home.”

The two-hour harbor tour left plenty of time for personal discussions over bagels from New York Bagel Bar, which is also moving into Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. As a parting gift, everyone received a voucher that can soon be redeemed at the chic Sports Club HafenCity.
